AC Milan are expected to make changes in each outfield department this summer but the goalkeeper battalion should stay the same, a report claims.
Milan conceded just 31 goals last season in the league which meant they had the joint-best Serie A defence alongside Napoli, and a part of that is because of the fact they have some reliable goalkeepers to call upon.
MilanNews recall how Maignan played 32 games in the last Serie A season, conceding 21 goals and racking up 17 clean sheets. The Frenchman was one of the major drivers in the title race, showing off his confidence, shot-stopping and his ability to be part of build-up play too.
Ciprian Tatarusanu and Antonio Mirante will remain as the back-up and third choice respectively too. Last year Tatarusanu was decisive in the first league derby against Inter with the penalty saved against Lautaro Martinez. The Romanian goalkeeper has played 6 league games, conceding 10 goals and keeping one clean sheet.
Mirante only arrived after the season has begun (around mid-October) and did not play a single minute, but his contract has been renewed until 2023 so he now has the same deadline as Tatarusanu.
Go Tata .. that penalty save in derby gave us the scudetto.
