AC Milan will soon sit down with the lawyer that assists Rafael Leao in order to discuss his contract renewal, according to a report.
MilanNews reports that either tomorrow or Wednesday an important meeting with Leao’s French lawyer is scheduled at Casa Milan for the issue of his contract renewal. The goal of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara is to reach the positive resolution of the affair before the World Cup, and they will make a significant offer without obliterating the salary parameters.

A proposal for a total of €7m net per season is what the management are thinking of offering, but the Sporting CP fine issue will also have to be resolved, which continues to have somewhat strange contours.
The report adds that La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere della Sera spoke of a debt entirely owed by Leao worth €16.5m which would be huge and would exclude Lille from any form of responsibility. However, the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) and the Swiss Federal Court ruled that Lille must pay half.
The €8-9m each is far more manageable than the €16.5m entirely on the shoulders of Leao, who is finding the entire episode quite unsettling, so Maldini and Massara want to make the best effort, supported by the owners, to keep him.
