MN: Milan unlikely to bring in Arsenal man despite favourable conditions – the reason

By Isak Möller -

With next season just around the corner, as AC Milan will take part in the Europa League playoffs, work is underway to identify potential reinforcements on the transfer market. By the looks of it, a midfielder will be signed.

As highlighted by MilanNews.it, Lucas Torreira has been linked with the Rossoneri once again in recent days. The Arsenal man has been linked with the club several times over the years, but last summer Milan opted to sign Ismael Bennacer instead.

The Uruguayan wants a return to Serie A and could move on favourable conditions, such as a loan with an option to buy. That being said, he would mainly be an alternative for Bennacer and not Franck Kessie in Stefano Pioli’s side.

It’s unlikely, therefore, that the two can play together in a midfield tandem unless the manager decided to change the tactical set-up by moving to a three-man midfield.

The arrival of Torreira would certainly strengthen the department as a whole, but in addition to him, the Rossoneri would need another player who can replace Kessie.
