MN: Milan will not and cannot afford to lose Kessie – his renewal ‘an absolutely priority’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Franck Kessie want to continue together but the issue of his renewal must be resolved, ideally in the coming weeks.

According to MilanNews, the man nicknamed ‘The President’ has no intention of leaving Milan, despite some English clubs having been on his trail for some time. This was confirmed by the agent of the Ivorian – George Atangana – who told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Only a coup d’etat can send the President away from Milan.”

Kessie is considered a player of paramount importance both for the head coach and his staff, but also for the management and owners Elliott Management, so much so that the directors are working with his entourage to try and approach that €6m net per season requested.

The renewal of Kessie ‘is an absolutely priority issue’ for Milan as he has become crucial to Pioli with his physical strength, tackles, reading skills, ball retention, strength, goals and assists. With any partner – be it Bennacer, Tonali or another player – he looks comfortable. The bottom line is simply: Milan cannot afford to and will not lose him.

  1. As far as gazidis is our CEO nothing will surprise me. Might not sell but lose him on a free. Give players wold class salary that is the normal thing to do. But Gazidis is all about balancing the book and profit. With so much gain but nothing to show for it. I won’t expect any trophy during his tenure don’t too if you don’t want to suffer. We should increase our endurance for heart break. Is it not gazidis again the earlier we realize this the better. Milan will be a very good team painted with enough profit with nothing to show for it.

    1. wait a minute…that doesn’t sound like Gazidis
he did wonderful things at Arsenal, nothing of this sort….oh, wait, never mind…. #Gazidisout
