AC Milan’s interest in signing defender Marco Pellegrino has been confirmed by a reliable source, but he is one option among several others being considered.
It was reported by César Luis Merlo of TyC Sports earlier today that Milan are currently in talks with the Argentine club Platense over the possible arrival of Pellegrino as their search for a centre-back continues.
MilanNews confirm that the Rossoneri are interested in Pellegrino as they management are looking for a defender in the final part of the summer transfer window.
However, they are exploring three or four different options of which the Italian-Argentine is one, so they are keeping multiple cards on the table.
The 21-year-old came through the Platense youth team and who only made his first-team debut last March but since then has missed only four matches (two of which weredue to a muscle injury).
He is a name that had been mentioned to the former Italy boss Roberto Mancini as a possible new player to be included in the national team given he has an Italian passport.
He’s looked very good from what I’ve seen. Definitely a solid option.
Platense play Boca in a few days, might have to watch it now.
He has an Italian passport, and may even count towards a youth requirement. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone in his immediate family or perhaps grandparents are Italian.
Transfermarketweb has him at just 400k, so could definitely be worth it. Could likely come for a few million, as transfermarket often underestimates values/demands of clubs.
Sorry by immediate, I mean one or both parents. But more likely his grandparents.
