MN: Milan’s probable XI for Sampdoria clash – no Tomori or Messias

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan return to league action tomorrow hoping to put the disappointment of the Champions League defeat against Inter behind them.

According to the latest from MilanNews, Stefano Pioli will rely on his starters for the game against an already-relegated Sampdoria side at San Siro tomorrow night, which of course begins with Mike Maignan in goal.

Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez will be the full-backs with Malick Thiaw confirmed in central defence alongside one of either Fikayo Tomori or Simon Kjaer, meaning the Englishman could get a rest.

Rade Krunic and Sandro Tonali will be in the midfield double pivot with Alexis Saelemaekers on the right instead of Junior Messias, Brahim Diaz as the playmaker and Rafael Leao on the left behind the centre-forward Olivier Giroud.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Kjaer, Theo; Tonali, Krunic; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

Bench: Mirante, Tatarusanu, Ballo-Touré, Rebic, Kalulu, Kjaer, Florenzi, Origi, Pobega, Gabbia, Vranckx, Adli, Bakayoko, Messias, De Ketelaere.

  1. If we cant win sampdoria at home, unfortunately, our players must sit at home next year and watch champions league in front of television and learn. And practice in serie a much more and harder to reach Champions League level.

  2. Please commit to Pobega. He has what it takes to be as reliable as Kessie. I understand some youngsters are scary to have out there, like CDK, but Pobega will pay off quickly.

    Come on, Pioli…
