MN: Pioli knows he can count on Giroud amid uncertainty regarding future attack

One of the departments that AC Milan are looking to upgrade, or rather rejuvenate, is the attack as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud aren’t getting any younger. The latter, however, has become a certainty.

After his injury struggles at the start of the season, Giroud has managed to find consistency and he has been quite successful this year (7 goals and 4 in all competitions). In other words, Stefano Pioli can count on him.

As highlighted by MilanNews, there has been a lot of discussion about the future of Ibrahimovic, whose contract will expire in the summer. At the age of 40, a renewal isn’t certain and Milan are also looking to bring in a younger profile.

Regardless of the Swede’s future and the potential arrival of Origi, though, it’s clear that Giroud has become a certainty for the team. He knows what it takes to score important goals (as we saw vs. Inter and Napoli) and his experience is also crucial for what is a very young squad.
