MN: Pioli gives Milan players extended rest after Juventus loss

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has decided to give the players an extended rest after Sunday’s game against Juventus, a report claims.

The Rossoneri put in an impressive performance against the Bianconeri, having the bulk of the chances at the Allianz Stadium before conceding the winner with just over 10 minutes to go through substitute Paulo Dybala.

The Argentine – who had come on for Cristiano Ronaldo – weaved his way around captain Alessio Romagnoli before finishing expertly past Gianluigi Donnarumma into the bottom corner.

The result means that Milan have now lost in their last nine visits to face Juve in Serie A and leaves the team in 14th place in the standings with seven defeats in 12 games to start the season.

According to a report from MilanNews.it, Pioli has decided to give his players some rest to recover after the game and as such the team will continue training at Milanello on Wednesday.

Those who get called up by their respective national teams, of course, will not be present.
