MN: Pioli grants squad a day of rest – Giroud and Ibrahimovic hoping to be available vs. Verona

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has granted the team a day of rest meaning they will not train at Milanello on Monday, a report claims.

MilanNews writes that the next training session is set for tomorrow afternoon, and that’s where the Rossoneri will start preparing for Saturday’s match against Hellas Verona. The current international break is being used as a chance to allow some injured players to recover to top condition, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud.

The Swede will join the rest of the squad perhaps as early as tomorrow but Wednesday at the latest and he hopes to be at least called up for the game on Saturday night. The Frenchman is further ahead in his recovery from lower back pain and has been training regularly for a few days. All that remains to be decided is if he will start or be used during the game.
