MN: Preparations for Parma begin; battle in key position with Calhanoglu back

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will have a decision to make regarding who starts on the left side against Parma, a report claims.

Giacomo Bonaventura made his second start of the season during the Rossoneri’s 1-1 draw with Napoli on Saturday night, netting the equaliser to cancel out Hirving Lozano’s opener.

The 30-year-old has been tipped by many to play a role of increasing importance over the coming weeks under Pioli after recovering from a serious knee injury which he suffered last October.

As MilanNews.it notes, Milan have on Tuesday begun their preparations for the challenge on Sunday afternoon against Parma at the Tardini, with kick-off at 15:00 CET.

Pioli will have Hakan Calhanoglu available again – who returns from a one-game ban against Napoli – and will have to choose between him and Bonaventura for the left wing slot.

Jack’s impressive display against Napoli means he could reportedly ‘take advantage of the positive moment to gain confirmation’ of his spot in the starting XI, the report adds.

No other battles for positions are mentioned, but Lucas Biglia’s poor display coincides with Ismael Bennacer’s return so we predict the line-up to look as follows…

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Conti, Duarte, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Paqueta, Bennacer, Krunic; Suso, Piatek, Bonaventura.
