MN: Probable Milan XI to face Empoli – five changes expected from Napoli

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are back in action tonight at San Siro as they take on Empoli hoping to make it back to back wins following the success against Napoli.

According to a report from MilanNews, Stefano Pioli will make some changes to the starting line-up compared to the side which was victorious in Naples. Mike Maignan will be in goal with Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez keeping their place, but Malick Thiaw coming in for Simon Kjaer.

In midfield Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer will keep their spot, while the changes are likely to come in attack. On the right Alexis Saelemaekers should come in for Brahim Diaz, while Tommaso Pobega was tried as the playmaker instead of Rade Krunic.

This morning Pioli will make the final choices but Rafael Leao’s condition will be monitored as he trained individually on Wednesday and with the group yesterday, but he is not at 100% and will not be risked. Ante Rebic is tipped to his place, while Divock Origi should also start up front.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Pobega, Rebic; Origi.

Bench: Tatarusanu, Mirante, Vasquez, Kjaer, Gabbia, Ballo-Touré, Dest, Bakayoko, Diaz, Krunic, Vranckx, De Ketelaere, Messias, Adli, Leao, Giroud.

  1. Terrible rotations. Origi and rebic will do jack. Lets see what pobega can do. But I understand we want to rest our key attackers for the champions league game. Hoping origi and rebic finally find the back of the net!
