MN: Probable Milan XI to face Inter – Kjaer expected to return in defence

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli seems to have decided on virtually the entirety of his starting XI ahead of the Supercoppa against Inter tomorrow.

A report from MilanNews confirms that Maignan, Ibrahimovic, Florenzi, Krunic and Ballo-Touré will all miss the game through injury, but Pioli does have Kjaer and Rebic again. If the Croatian will certainly start from the bench, the Danish centre-back instead has an excellent chance of starting from the first minute alongside Fikayo Tomori.

Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez seem certain of their place as the full-backs ahead of Ciprian Tatarusanu, while Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer are also lock-ins for the midfield double pivot.

Olivier Giroud will lead the attack, a striker with a particular feeling for the derby, and behind him the trident should consist of Rafael Leao – who scored a brace last time against Inter – Brahim Diaz, and Alexis Saelemaekers.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

Bench: Mirante, Vasquez, Kalulu, Thiaw, Gabbia, Dest,
Pobega, Bakayoko, Adli, Messias, De Ketelaere, Lazetic, Origi, Rebic.

  1. hope Milan loses. Poli gets the sack.
He is so so wrong to keep playing Diaz who is ineffective and sparkle only once in 10 matches. This real Madrid player will ruin the career of Cdk and Adil.

    1. You hope that the only coach that has brought us meaningful silverware, a style of playing, improvements in players, an actual game plan, points and many of them, serenity in the dressing room, and hope that the miracle of being in the hunt with a vastly inferior squad, gets the sack? Da fuq I’m reading here. Some of you have forgotten the 10 years prior.

    2. This comment is sad and disgusting. Not a mirror of a fans who needs to support his favorite team and more of a dumb troll.

      Begone Jon S!

  2. Of late Poli ran out of ideas. He is using the wrong man and his tactics are predictable. I’m not a troll, I’m just being honest that Poli stubbornness to play certain players will hurt Milan.

  3. Shame on you man for judging like this. Just think that you are still a person viewing a match and commenting about some of your vague thoughts and Pioli is managing the team. So it just means he has the quality. Don’t be so dumb in forgetting the past. Being such a fan is very disgraceful. We are getting good on the financial side also along with a stadium also in the process. Don’t just think of the games bro
