MN: Probable XIs for Napoli vs. Milan – Potential start for Kjaer

By Euan Burns -

There could be a rare starting place for Simon Kjaer in the AC Milan team against Napoli on Sunday night, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, Stefano Pioli is expected to revert back to the 4-2-3-1 formation in the absence of Pierre Kalulu. That means that Fikayo Tomori could be partnered with Simon Kjaer whose chances have been limited this season.

The other option for Pioli is to start Malick Thiaw there instead but for such a big game, he may call on the experience of Thiaw.

The other contentious area seems to be the right wing. With Rade Krunic expected to play behind Olivier Giroud, it will either be Brahim Diaz or Alexis Saelemaekers on the opposite wing to Rafael Leao.

As for Napoli, they are going to be without Victor Osimhen which means that Giovanni Simeone is set to get a rare start for the Azzurri.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Diaz, Krunic, Leao; Giroud.

Probable Napoli XI (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Kim Min-jae, Mario Rui; Anguissa, Lobotka, Zielinski; Lozano, Simeone, Kvaratskhelia.
