Yacine Adli

MN: Salernitana pushing for arrival of Milan outcast Adli – the latest

Salernitana are back in the mix for the services of Yacine Adli, who is expected to leave AC Milan on loan for the upcoming season. However, it remains to be seen if the midfielder will say yes to the move.

Adli was first signed by Milan back in the summer of 2021 but he remained at Bordeaux on a season-long loan. When he eventually did arrive, the expectations were fairly high but last season, he only got 140 minutes on the pitch.

The midfielder thus needs consistent playing time to revive his career and according to MilanNews, Salernitana are still very interested in signing him on loan. Their manager Paulo Sousa worked with Adli at Bordeaux and would be more than happy with his arrival.

The report concludes that this negotiation is completely separate from the one relating to Salernitana full-back Pasquale Mazzocchi, who can play on both sides of the defence. He could become an option for Milan, in other words.

  1. If we can get Mazzochi it’s great.

He is not exactly young but being 28, he still have solid 4 years minimum, bare injuries. If we can get him for minimum amount he could be our problem solver at fullback – he can play right back most of the time and play left back when Theo need rest (shouldn’t be too many times based on last season)

The main concern, he is also more of wing back like Singo than Full back, and the reason Pioli abandon Singo pursuit was because he see Singo as wing back and not full back.

      1. Well 1/9 signings last season isn’t exactly the greatest success rate.

Lucky the transfer market doesn’t encourage rationale behaviour otherwise players might start making better decisions!

          1. And his replacement changed 50% the squad.

This is an issue that affects all of football but Milan have been particular bad for about 15 years (other than a brief spell a couple of seasons ago).

          2. For proper context
The guy who hired the 9 signings that was fired, hired:
            > the scudetto winning goalkeeper (Mike Maignan)
            > the scudetto winning back 4, except Calabria who is an academy product (Kalulu, Tomori & Theo)
            > the scudetto winning midfield, except Kessie (Bennacer, Tonali)
            > the scudetto winning attack (Leao, Giroud, Diaz)

Subs: > Ibra, Kjaer, Krunic, Messias, Saelemaekers, Rebic, Balo-Toure, Florenzi, Tata, Bakayoko

          3. “Ya but it’s not the fault of the chief scout who recommended them eh you blithering idiot”

Blithering idiot? LOL. I’d say the idiot is the one who thinks scouts only recommend a handful of players and the directors choose them without any consideration on which player would fit in the team. Scouts recommend the players and directors make the decisions. They had plenty of options but chose the wrong ones last summer. ONE out of 9 was decent. ONE!!! You can’t really do much worse than that, now can you?

      1. Is my statement controversial?

Do you disagree that Adli might just be regressing signing?

Why are you responding to my post?

          1. The amount of berating you do here Giancarlo is also surprising! People can have different opinion. I guess you are having a bad day at the truck stop corner washroom? No customer…eh!

  2. The problem is Pioli not the maldini. Maldini pushed to change the pioli this season by stating that we are week. and we actually got the fifth place. thanks to juventus we are in chAMPIONS League THIS YEAR.
i hope Pioli wouldnt get more than half of the season. do not judge Pioli by the final standings
