MN: Starting XI for Udinese game could be same as Cesena friendly

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could field the same starting XI against Udinese – or one very similar – as they did in Saturday’s friendly in Cesena.

The Rossoneri failed to impress in their final preseason fixture as they were held to a dull 0-0 draw by their Serie C opponents and actually spending periods of the game on the back foot.

Milan were looking for a confidence booster ahead of the opening game of the season in Udine, but they struggled to break down their resilient hosts.

As per a report from MilanNews.it, the starting line-up that Marco Giampaolo chooses to go with against Udinese could strongly resemble the one he chose in the final friendly.

This is largely due to the fact that Giampaolo is likely to put his trust in players he has been able to train for longer, and to allow the new ones to settle before being used frequently.

A number of players have had extended breaks and rejoined preseason later than others, such as Franck Kessie, Lucas Paqueta and Ismael Bennacer.
