MN: Three reasons why Milan are ready to spend €30m on De Ketelaere

By Isak Möller -

Charles De Ketelaere is currently at the top of AC Milan’s wish list and negotiations are ongoing with Club Brugge. In fact, a move is looking increasingly likely given the Rossoneri’s strong motivation behind the interest.

Stefano Pioli wants a playmaker to reinforce the squad ahead of what should be a very interesting season. Milan are no longer considered the underdogs and will have to assert themselves in the Scudetto race early.

With the signing of De Ketelaere, they would send a strong message to their rivals. As highlighted by MilanNews, there are mainly three reasons why Milan are pushing so hard for this signing: age (21), quality and flexibility.

The Belgian talent is the perfect example of Elliott’s project at the club and he also has the quality to perform at a very high level. The fact that he can play in several positions is also something that Piol values highly, often changing the shape of the team depending on the opponent.

    1. Yea I doubt Jungdal or Roback will ever reach such a level, if Nasti was involved I wouldn’t be happy but Jungdal and Roback aren’t anything out of this world

  1. He also has the quality to perform at a very high level???. what quality he has playing in Belgium league.

  2. “Ready to” Ready to”, spend this money on him already so we can sleep with eyes close and not want to wake up to a news that one club has offered more

  3. Leeds offered substantially more than Milan both in transfer fee and salary, we aren’t capable of matching the offer due to our non existent transfer budget.

So, we have to bet on the player’s wish and Maldini’s ability to convince.

Of course Milan would be thousand times better than EPL bottom feeder club for CDKs career despite lower salary because of UCL football and he will be a guaranteed starter for the team.

So, the sooner he pushes and arrives in Milan the better it is for everyone involved as he would definitely need time to gel with the team to be effective.

Lets hope Maldini can pull this through.

As for Botman, I am glad we let Botman go. Spending that much for defense at this stage wouldn’t be wise since we aren’t sure how far we would go in UCL this year. So planning to keep us in Scudetto fight is more realistic so reinforcing CAM and RW is the priority.

  4. I will believe it when I see him holding up a Milan jersey. Unfortunately we have been through this song and dance so many times. We like a player he likes us but we have no $$ to sign him – so we move to cheaper targets or pray that team will give us a large “discount” like we are at the dollar store lol. Best bet is we get a few players on loan and that’s it IMO. Not holding out much hope for this one.
