MN: Two conditions set for Thiago Silva’s return to AC Milan – the details

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have one of the youngest squads in Serie A, which in many ways is a good sign for the future. However, as we have seen this season, having experience can make a big difference in some situations.

The balance at Milanello has shifted since Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived in January, whose mission was to raise the bar for the entire team. Considering his impact, the management has understood that a balance between youth and experience is needed.

As reported by MilanNews.it’s Anto Vitiello this morning, Thiago Silva is a hypothesis that will be evaluated in the summer. The Brazilian’s contract with PSG will expire in June, meaning he could return to Milan for free.

For now, there are no real negotiations between the parties. However, in an interview with TMW, the defender’s agent said: “Thiago has always had a great relationship with Milan. And if we don’t renew with PSG, everything is possible”.

This remains the main condition for the transfer. In order to return to Milan, obviously, he can’t renew his deal with PSG. Above all, though, he would have to lower his salary significantly as he currently earns €12m a year, per the report.

Should the conditions become favourable in the summer, then Milan are ready to intervene, just like they did with Ibrahimovic in December.
