MN: Two things De Ketelaere did especially well in his debut for Milan

By Isak Möller -

Charles De Ketelaere made his official debut for AC Milan yesterday, coming off the bench in the second half against Udinese. It was a positive display from him and the fans made him feel very welcome.

The Belgian playmaker, who was signed by the Rossoneri for a fee of €35m, has some high expectations to live up to but he has already shown glimpses of his quality. In the 20 minutes he got yesterday, he impressed,

As highlighted by MilanNews, he did two things especially well: 1) his movement on and off the ball made him constantly available and 2) he showcased his excellent vision of the game, for example when he played Olivier Giroud in on goal.

He almost got on the scoresheet as well, sending the ball back into the net, but the referee had blown for a could just before. It remains to be seen if he will play from start against Atalanta (perhaps unlikely), but his debut was indeed promising.

  1. Something that to me is really astonishing is his decision making, he decides whether to pass or dribble perfectly like he’s a veteran yet he just turned 21

  2. He’s something special, but let’s not compare him with Kaka / Rui Costa. Not that he has no potential in reaching those levels, but his style is entirely different. An out and out modern type of player with a vast versatility. Just the type of player that Pioli needs in his type of game.

Really can’t wait to see Adli makes his debut as well. And let’s hope we can find a solution for a Tonali’s back up by the end of this TW. We saw how Benni laboriously (with difficulties) covered up the midfield area last match and that’s not his best forte.

  3. CDK reminds me of KAKA…his playing style, vision, decision making and eye for goal is same as that of KAKA. I wish him injury free season so that we can see the best of him… Forza Milan ❤️🖤
