MN24: Pioli considers switching positions of two forwards ahead of trip to Hellas Verona

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli could consider making a change in the attack for Sunday’s game against Hellas Verona, according to a report.

MilanNews24 writes how Rafael Leao disappointed in the role of centre-forward in the match against Udinese as he was virtually anonymous and did not offer the movement and dynamism that Pioli will have been expecting, given he is a different striker to both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Mandzukic.

Milan’s result was clearly influenced by the weight of absences in midfield and in attack, as it took a 97th-minute penalty to snatch a point after a poor performance in which the Rossoneri were virtually unable to break down Udinese’s low block.

Leao appeared detached and not very dangerous while Rebic on the left wing was erratic and not his usual incisive self, a reason that could induce Pioli to swap the positions of the two forwards. In the match against Verona it could be the Portuguese who will play wide on the left while the Croatian would be up front.

  1. Leao need to up his game ,
And since the two is not a natural striker
We can play with 4 4 2 sistem or 3 4 1 2,for a while before IBRA returns ,and let them atapt to the system before manchester united match comes up
We cant rely on 1 formation

  2. And how come Pioli never thinks of deploying JP on the left, especially when these guys aren’t in their best? Why isn’t he motivating the young man who can perform great things on the left side?!
P.S. I really can’t understand how come so many ppl here don’t understand that switching from 4 in the back into 3 is A HUUUGE change, that requires a completely different strategy for the entire team? Just because we have 3 good defenders, you guys think it’ll be that simple to put all 3 of them inside?! Shiiiit. I guess you obviously don’t understand football right, but at least you could’ve seen what happened this season when Rino decided to do that experiment in Napoli, and suddenly changed them to a 3-men-defense, and how come the whole team was confused and massively underperformed! Or at least, couldn’t you see how much time (excellent) Inter defenders needed till they learned Conte’s 3=men system, especially a top man like Skriniar, as well as Godin?!?!
THOSE THINGS DON’T WORK AS A SWITCH of a browser on the Internet, you adapt to it in a few minutes!
