Hope is growing about a possible move to AC Milan for Luka Modric, it seems, with an answer already present…
With Milan needing a rebuild this summer, the club are going to need to find inspiration in some names, and the signing of Modric could certainly provide that. All things point in the direction of Tijjani Reijnders leaving, and whilst the Croatian’s arrival would not fix things, it could help.

In fact, according to La Repubblica (via Madrid Universal), the midfielder has ‘already said yes’ to the move to San Siro, going with his heart, which is Rossonero and has been from a young age. However, he is not the only one pushing.
The report continues, stating that the club are ‘optimistic’ of completing a deal, with Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri both discussing the move regularly internally.
Modric has already reportedly turned down offers from Saudi Arabia, which have come with lucrative contracts, in favour of staying in Europe, which he believes to be essential to his chances of featuring in the 2026 World Cup.
A move to Milan seems like it will be completed in a ‘matter of time’, which is a bold statement. However, all parties are seemingly on the same wavelength and with the midfielder agreeing to a one-year deal, ‘offered in principal’, it bodes well for the future.

No. Give opurtunity to young player.
Ironically signing Modric would allow us to do exactly that. Think about what someone like Zeroli will learn being in training with him.
Then on the pitch, any youngsters in the 11 (and if there’s any season we can bleed some in its next one) need a calm head and a leader. I’m looking around and I’m not seeing anyone right now.
It’s a shame we have to use other clubs legends these days, but I’ll absolutely take him.
It should be simple to understand but yeah…and it isn’t some guy that doesn’t train 100% and is lazy. No sense to be against this, Modric for 1 year.
There a opurnity these to become most highest and successful years about Modric respectively about Walker but its will all deppends up to Max Alegri
“No. Give opurtunity to young player.”
Adli, Terracciano and Musah? Yeah. And now we’re here. Fishing for someone competent.
Why would anyone act like this is a big deal. He’s 40 and if not for the World Cup next year, he’d be retiring or playing in the MLS. I like the idea of him joining and doing for us what Giroud did for sure let’s take him for sure but let’s not act like this is some status symbol for Milan. We either get young, under-appreciated players, or close to retirement players with loads of experience. We aren’t going to land anyone currently hot or at their prime, that’s over. Getting super excited about this is a little embarrassing.
Ahahhahhaahhhahahah
Amen!
Modric, Verratti, Rabiot. And then you can put any 8 other players, with your eyes closed.
Yes, it is actually true. But it was just a call from Milan asking if he’d be interested. When Ibrahimovic was coming people were asking is Milan becoming a nursing home for old people. And then we won the Scudetto next season. Bringing in Modric for a season along with some young midfielders that can learn from him would be a top move. Yes, De Bruyne would be better but he won’t come to Milan. Milan is 8th in Serie A, not playing Europe. Stop being delusional, guy has 2-3 more years, he will pray that Allegri does a good job for his last 2 seasons? Napoli with Conte is a safer bet.
Actually a good move, a DLP will transform milan
I don’t have any faith in a 40yr old player unless it’s Diego Armando Maradona reincarnated.
I don’t think this is a good idea. Signing Milan Skriniar makes more sense to me because he’s 30yrs old with Serie A experience and Milan need the experience in defense not midfield.
La Liga players don’t do well in Serie A and at 40yrs old the magic in Modric legs are long gone.
💯
Good thing he also played in the EPL for 4 seasons.
How do EPL players do in serie A?
Wasn’t an EPL player that just won the MVP award of Serie A in his first season?
I hope Walker might stayed after all and 5 – 25 mills he do the same
If ACM signed him I will buy one authentic last Modric jersey
Better late than never… He played the most minutes of his career at Real LAST SEASON which is just wild so he can still do a job for us – on and off the pitch…
I usually see eye to eye with you, but THIS move just doesn’t compute for me.
We wouldn’t have won the scudetto without the grandpas Ibra Giroud and Kjaer..
Those Grandpas were younger than 40. Also completely different style of play and positions which didn’t require movement or as much ground covering as a mid should. At best Modric can only be a back up or moral support in the dressing room rather than someone who will replace Rejndiers.
38, 39 or 40? Look at the minutes Modric played. That says everything you need to know about him being “too old”.
*38, 39 or 40? What’s the difference really?
100%
We don’t need this old man his time is up
I’ve seen quite a few Real games in the last season and prior one in the UCL and in the league. I’d say there is a reason he comes on as a sub. When he starts he’s overrun. He’s not the spring chicken Modric we are getting, it’s an old and aged Modric. Granted his quality of passing and vision are still there but he’s simply lost a step or two…and that’s important in the modern game. As someone who struggles against the kids in pick up games, sometimes you gotta know when to hang up the boots.
Also, I don’t know why current management be looking at old management notes. Royal and Modric would have been fine 5 years ago, not now. Stop looking at Maldini’s old notebooks FFS 🤦♂️, make your own targets. Hmm 🤔 Pavlovic, Sottil, Bondo….you know what nevermind….
I found it odd that we talk of the new project and one of the first moves is to bring in an old retiring player. How is that good for a new project? I like Modric but he’ll delay someone else’s growth by playing. Management should get on with the Reijnders deal and bring in Ricci and Rovella and starting building the midfield for the new project.
Typical Cardinale with his commercial tactics. Sign Modric just for shirt sales to the American market. He can’t keep behaving like this as ACM’s glorious history will only run for so long. People want to see winners and success on the pitch not a fashion parade.
Mattia Liberali is waiting. Modric is well past his sell by date.
Yeah Ned, because Modric is huge in America…
Sempre continues to have the dumbest comment section on the internet.
😀 😀 😀 😀
Modrich will do well with Allegri style of play, he doesn’t need to be running much.
A year contract wouldn’t hurt. Always good to have player his caliber in team. Don’t expect him to play week in week out. Or to replace Tijani for that matter.
We can have both. Experienced players and young ones.
Bro, is gonna show up and regret this dumpster fire.
