AC Milan will make the short hop to Bergamo to face their Lombardy neighbours Atalanta with one mission in mind: win.

Correire della Sera (via MilanNews) in their Friday edition recall the press conference from Paulo Fonseca yesterday in which he declared that his side are not going to face Atalanta thinking about accepting a draw.

If the Rossoneri want to keep their dream of the Scudetto alive, they can do nothing but emerge victorious against Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, who are in brilliant form. The Milan coach declared that it is not a decisive match, but in reality it is very close.

This is the ‘crossroads’ game for Milan, and a ‘moment of truth’ to see how far they have come. After the game against La Dea, Milan have Red Star in the Champions League, then Genoa, Verona and Roma in the league.

Winning tonight in Bergamo would secure not only three very important points for the standings, but also a lot of confidence for the future. After three consecutive victories against Slovan Bratislava, Empoli and Sassuolo this is a much more difficult test, but confidence has been built.

For the match against the Bergamo team, Fonseca will field the formation that currently gives him the most certainties: Malick Thiaw and Matteo Gabbia at centre-back, Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders in midfield, and Yunus Musah on the right as the ‘balancer’.
