Ismael Bennacer’s AC Milan fate remains up in the air on deadline day, and a journalist has claimed that Atletico Madrid have enquired about him.
Bennacer has been linked with a move away from Milan over the past few days and these rumours only intensified when he was an unused substitute during the defeat against Parma last Saturday and he missed three training sessions this week, not due to injury either.
The feeling has been that a move to Saudi Arabia has always been the most likely, but Daniele Longo claimed last night that the Algerian has been ‘badly advised’ by his agents regarding how concrete the interest actually is from there. Thus, the idea of a loan move somewhere in Europe has emerged.
According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Atletico Madrid have come forward and asked about the idea of signing Bennacer on loan, but there is no further information about whether it would include any kind of option or obligation to buy.
Atleti have already completed the signing of Conor Gallagher from Chelsea to bolster their midfield, but it appears that they are looking for more depth in the department, having seen Saul and Arthur Vermeeren depart on loan deals.
