Moretto: Milan hit early wall in pursuit of Barcelona defender due to costs

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have asked for information about Clement Lenglet but do not currently consider him to be a realistic option, according to a report.

Milan are believed to be in the market for a new central defender given that there were some concerning signs during the tour of the USA in which six goals were let in across the games against Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport spoke about how Lenglet of Barcelona is a profile being strongly considered because of his experience at the highest level and the fact he would be available for a transfer fee of around €10m.

According to the latest from Matteo Moretto of Relevo however, Milan have indeed probed the situation regarding the 28-year-old but at present he is an unfeasible option due to the costs involved.

From this we can infer that the salary he would ask for would be too high, given he is unlikely to fetch a high transfer fee.

  1. But but but but but some replies told me it was a done deal and they wanted to cry and whine about it…

In reality, we weren’t ever going to sign him and the original rumor was from a dubious source.

    1. show some respect towards kjær as he has been instrumental in our resurgence propably almost as much as ibra was.

    2. Are you just start to support Milan after last scudetto season?

Because if not, you should know that Kjaer is far from likes of Origi and Florenzi.

  2. All I’m gonna say is that kjaer florenzi can be solid when they are available but… It’s better to have players that can be available most of the season or even all the season, ready to be played when Pioli wants to rotate the team not in the end of the season only.
