Moretto: Milan consider Musah and Reijnders top midfield priorities – the latest

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are looking to bolster their midfield following the departure of Sandro Tonali. After signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek, the Rossoneri could bring in an additional two players for the department.

Tonali’s departure has not just resulted in a budget boost for Milan but also a hole in the midfield. Loftus-Cheek’s arrival is a step in the right direction, but at least one more midfielder is needed to compete with the big teams next season.

According to Matteo Moretto, Milan consider both Tijjani Reijnders and Yunus Musah top priorities for the midfield. Negotiations with AZ Alkmaar are continuing for the former, with a distance of about €5m right now (but there is optimism to close).

As for Musah, Milan’s first offer of €18m was rejected by Valencia, who are asking for €25m. The Rossoneri are set to make a new offer, per Moretto, and it remains to be seen if the Spanish side will budge on their demands.

Everything suggests that Milan will sign at least two more midfielders this summer, which makes sense especially if someone like Tommaso Pobega were to leave.

  1. Would rather Musah and Dominguez, which to me gives a reliable, proven Serie A player plus a youngster with big potential. But either way, at least two are needed.

  2. Dominguez and one of Rjeinders/Musah. Pls don’t haggle over 2-3m. Need to complete squad earlier to prepare and looking for any holes to fill.

    1. Neither of three players mentioned will be coming if fee isn’t agreed upon. Probably in the end they will try saladmaker, balotoure, cdk, romero, as midfielder 😀

      1. Nah, no need to be pessimistic about player that come. We will buy, but didn’t know when.

The window still open for 6 weeks, but earlier is better.

Just use Ballo Toure + 10m for Dominguez if Bologna really want him.

          1. I know, that’s why I say no need to be pessimistic.

And still earlier the better, we still have many holes to fill in our squad after all. And most new players need bedding time.

    2. If you could get Reminders, Gravenbach and Dominguez in return for Tonali sale,

I think most fans would be overjoyed and in that context this should be the market strategy but convincing clubs to part with their gems is a difficult business and that proves to identify a target is not enough, convincing the target to join the project and his club to sell are just as important factors and when we e can do both only then can we push forward.

  3. Dominguez has never played for a top team. And he’s not young. Don’t know why people are bringing him up.

Musah and Reijnders should be our top priorities.

    1. He is still 25, his best years still in front of him.

He never played for top team, but he has many experiences, know Serie A well, and one of Bologna best player last season.

And he is the right profile we need. Whether we will play with 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 we still need defensive minded mid, which RLC, Rjeinders, Musah, and Gravenberch isn’t one right now. They can be mounded into one but we need a ready one, and Dominguez could be him.

My first preferences actually is Amrabat, but for some reason no reason for him and maybe Fiorentina will demand 20-30m, so if we can get Dominguez for 10m that’s a really good buy.
