Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has spoken about the signing of Noah Okafor from AC Milan, commenting on the state that he has arrived in.
Okafor experienced a strange winter transfer window, starting with when he flew to Germany to complete a move to RB Leipzig but had to fly back less than 24 hours later because the deal had collapsed.
What exactly went on will likely remain inside the respective boardrooms, but Leipzig seemed to leak that it was due to an unsatisfactory medical – which Milan took a shot at. As we revealed there was a late attempt to change economic aspects of the operation.
In the end though the Swiss forward did get his move, joining Napoli on a loan with option to buy deal on the final day of the window. Speaking at a press conference two days after the closing of the winter mercato, Manna answered a question from a journalist about the concerns regarding Okafor’s physical condition.
“His situation with Leipzig is the dynamics of other clubs. It’s not true that he didn’t pass the medicals. He’s a little behind for our parameters, we work in a certain way. He needs some time to get back into shape,” he said (via MilanNews).
This year he looked like a retired footballer. Little belly, slow movement. He clearly does not train well. He will never play with Conte and he will be back to Milan in the summer.
Napoli basically failing to replace Kvara here. Works in our favor though.
Does it ? There is 19 points between us and Napoli, we can never make up that difference even if they crumble totally.
Furthemore them failing means that inter is guarantee to have 2nd star.
They already have a second star and got it after beating us the umteenth time last season
I don’t count the 2005/06 scudetto and neither anyone should do.
On the pitch shinter has won 19 scudetti, not 20.
Do you follow football 😂

He could end up winning the title. Rather that than inter
Plenty of coaches and staff from other teans point out that our players show up to their teams out of shape. There is something wrong with our medical teams and physical conditioning staff. Multiple injuries as well constantly for many seasons. There needs to be a shift in that regard. I am not sure if it is the responsibility of the players we been targeting for low fees and or an internal issue.
This was a big blow to Conte. He has been doing well in the Scudetto race, but got disappointed that Kvara left and no fit replacement was done. If Inter win the Scudetto, a thanks should go to Kvara too.
Kvara scored 5 goals and 2 assists in 20 games. Conte won’t miss him.
Only on this site I see people judging wingers only based on goals and assists. There is much more to a modern winger than just that. There is a reason why Conte stated he needed a replacement of the same level in January.
