Nesta insists Milan are ‘doing things right’ and praises ‘smart’ Maldini

After the Scudetto win last season, this term has been a bit more disappointing for AC Milan even if they reached the Champions League semi-finals. In any case, as Alessandro Nesta argues, they are on the right path.

Since Elliott Management took over the club back in 2018, Milan have seriously improved not just on the pitch but also financially. The Scudetto came as a surprise to many and it was always going to be hard to replicate, yet the fans can’t help but feel disappointed with this season.

The Champions League journey has brought a lot of revenue but the reality is that Milan could miss out on the competition next season. Speaking to Dikele Distefano’s Basement Café, as cited by MilanNews, Milan legend Nesta shared his thoughts on the project.

“At Milan, they are finally doing things right again. Serious people have arrived. I’m not saying this because he’s a friend of mine, but Paolo Maldini is a smart man, he knows football. He’s a champion above all others. They also found the right coach: they wanted him, they protected him, and he then led them to results,” he stated.

Indeed, Milan’s journey from the ‘Banter Era’ is indeed impressive but the club is currently at a crossroads. The summer will thus be crucial and, of course, the remaining three games of the season (for the top-four race).

  1. The best center back that I have ever seen. But be honest mr, set friendship aside, accept pioli is the problem for milan. Bad tactics, training and team selection.

    1. So because you disagree with what he is saying he is then being dishonest in your view, Thats quite presumptious i f i may say so.
