Longo: New details revealed about Moncada’s Milan future – when he may leave

Geoffrey Moncada’s future is a heavy topic of interest for the future, and today, some more information about his situation has been revealed.

In recent weeks, there has been a lot said about Moncada, especially considering rumours have suggested that his contract expires at the end of the current season with Milan also looking to recruit a new sporting director.

However, the club seems to want the Frenchman to work alongside the new appointment, whoever that may be, given reports suggest that he already has a strong relationship with Igli Tare, who is the favourite for the job.

If he does not work alongside the new sporting director, there are suggestions that he could return back to his former role as Chief Scout, though again, there has been little said on this in recent days, leaving the situation in darkness almost.

Today, Daniele Longo provided a bit of clarity on the situation, and actually states that his contract is set to expire next season, rather than this season, as was expected. This means that he will be at the club, barring anything new, until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Whether there are any changes that need to be made so he can return to his former role or anything of that nature is currently unknown.

      1. He’s a good scout, he’s a horrible manager/director. He did identified a lot of good talent. He just does not know how to actually build a team. it is a big difference.

        1. Probably was a good scout 5-10 years ago but Emerson was endorsed by him which says everything you need to know about his competence.

      1. Puli, Reijnders and Fofana yes. But seeing this fanbase consider a player dud and needs to be sold if he performs badly in few games, you might not agree with me. And that’s fine.

  1. Crazy fact that he is employed as a technical director. Taking a course on sporting director eh? Go back a few steps and learn the process properly manchild.

  2. Why now?…

I think they trusted him more and believe he will go a great job.

They kicked Maldini out , He should have left since with their algorithm shit. .. and allow Maldini continue building the team and create a very calm environment.

I can say no team and ref respect anyone from this present management. Not even the FA

    1. Maldini was a technical director. Get over it man. He was just as inexperienced as Ibra. Ricky Massara was the Sporting Director.

Milan need a proper sporting CEO not some Wall Street vulture fund guy like Furlani and we also need an experienced Sporting Director.

We need to get rid of Ibra, Moncada and Furlani.

  3. Every competent Sporting Director comes with his own scouting network. Every single one.

For this to work Moncada has to leave and the new Sporting Director has to bring his own people in and in Tate’s case hopefully not flood Milan with Eastern European Promises.

  4. Foreigner know more about foreigner, only little knowledge hehas about Italian babyboomers and the right Italian for the team right
