Tuttosport: From new stadium to Leao renewal – the tasks on Cardinale’s list

By Oliver Fisher -

RedBird Capital will soon become the owners of AC Milan and Gerry Cardinale has a list of important tasks on his agenda, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that there is less and less time left before Milan will officially pass into the hands of Cardinale’s fund, who will acquire 99.93% of the shares of Milan, with Elliott Management remaining involved only through two directors on the board and through the terms of the vendor loan.

The paper adds that Cardinale’s project is certainly one for the medium-long term, with the aim of taking the club into a new economic and sporting dimension.

The number one at RedBird is also experiencing the stadium situation closely, personally viewing the area available at Sesto San Giovanni as a potential alternative site if the times for a new San Siro continue to drag on.

It is not just the stadium issue that fans care about though, as important signals will also be needed from the recruitment side of things, including the renewal of Rafael Leao who expects to receive an offer close to his request of €7m net per season.
