Newcastle manager confirms Tonali return but key midfielder will miss Milan clash

By Isak Möller -

Sandro Tonli has recovered from his minor muscle injury and should be available for the clash against his former club AC Milan on Tuesday. However, another key Newcastle midfielder will miss out.

Tonali suffered a minor injury while on international duty with Italy and there was some concern in view of the game against Milan. However, speaking at the press conference after the win against Brentford, Eddie Howe confirmed his return.

“Joelinton had a reoccurrence of his knee injury playing for Brazil, in the second game, and it looks like he’ll be missing for a few weeks. Tonali? Part of the thought of not risking him today unless we absolutely had to was to try to make him available for our next run of games,” he stated.

Joelinton will miss out, though, as confirmed by Howe and that’s a blow considering he had played every single game from start up until the Brentford clash. Of course, Tonali’s return is a huge boost for the English side.

As for Milan, Fikayo Tomori will be back from his suspension and will play from the first minute. The confidence has taken a bit after the derby loss against Inter and they will need to bounce back with a good performance.

    1. And also they jog back like they won 20 titles in their career each and they have the credibility not to run like some of the biggest players at the end of their careers…Both of them.
