Rai: Newcastle offer winger to Milan on loan deal with €40m obligation to buy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan received a call from Newcastle United in which they were offered the chance to sign Allan Saint-Maximin on a loan deal, a report claims.

It was TMW who broke the news yesterday that the name of Saint-Maximin has once again come back into fashion for Milan. He is a winger that they have often followed in the past and by the admission of the player himself, the Rossoneri were really close to signing him in January 2019.

Earlier today, FootMercato journalist Santi Aouna reported that the Milan management are interested in signing the 25-year-old Saint-Maximin and are readying a loan bid to sign him before the window shuts.

According to what was reported live on Rai Sport (via TheMilanZone), it is Newcastle’s management who have in fact approached Milan about the possibility of getting a deal done.

They claim that Milan have received a call from the Magpies in which Saint-Maximin was offered to them on loan with an obligation to buy set at €40m, however the response was not mentioned nor were any further terms.

  1. wtf 40 million for him is just joke he worth 5 to 8 million at most
we could’ve got Ousmane Dembele on free transfer last summer but the club was running by people don’t understand sh$t about football
a world class winger available on free transfer in our biggest weakness and we didn’t go for him i’m 100 % if berlusconi was milan owner he would’ve got him

    1. Dembele? The winger who was the main reason why France was trailing 0-2 in the final? LOL. He’s a horribly overpaid and overpriced, horrible winger. Definite no to him.

    2. This comments section is being ran by people who don’t understand why*t about football. Dembele wages alone is 15m euros way above our limit,2-3x more. Plus he has a release clauses of 50mil with him and his agent receiving 50% of it if it gets activated.. so we would be shafted on both the wages and potential sale..smh
Free isn’t as free as you think. You guys think too much in terms of transfer fees and not wages and commissions
Berlusconi era is gone. We can’t just go out and buy who we want.. coincidence he left when FPP came in? Nope

  2. Saint Maximim isn’t a bad signing, but 40m is just hyper inflated prem prices…he’s a 15-20m player. Agree though if we are after him then it’s bye bye Leao….

  3. Ac Milan keeps buying junk players for too expensive prices, and leave their best players for free. Still same politics under USA brain damage management.

    1. Yes, it’s the owners telling Maldini not to resign and not to sell our best players. They are the ones telling him to let them leave for free because they don’t care about the 100+ million that we could have gotten from their sales.
Yeah, that makes so much sense.

        1. Check how much money Napoli spent in the summer compared to Milan, and see what players they signed for that money compared to who Milan signed

  4. when you put salary cap on salary you can’t force players to accept 4 million when know other club give them more yes maldini did bad deal but that because milan owner policy of going for cheap talent you can hit or miss that’s why smart clubs go for proven players , not going for talent and one of them improve we can’t pay his salary anymore is just dumb policy milan club is run like american club and that’s just dumb because the roles are different between american sports and european sports ,

  5. In my opinion leao will leave. Too much time has gone by with excuses not to renew. Is maxinm any good? Haven’t followed the guy honestly.

    1. He’s essentially Leão before the second half of last season. When he plays and plays well, you’d swear he’s absolutely world class — incredible pace and trickiness on the wing. However, he will rarely do that and then it’s just frustrating not knowing why he can’t be that guy all the time.

  6. If he was left-footed I’d pay 40 million for him to play on the right side. But I would rather have Zaniolo now for the right wing poosition and maybe sign Auoar to replace Diaz as trequartista

  7. As the 40M€ is way too much, I’d still take him on load without a mandatory option. IF he performs and we’d by some miracle qualify for UCL next season, then we could haggle in the summer like we always do to lower the price to something reasonable.

The only things that matter right now is
    a) not losing to Inter (at least by a huge margin)
    b) staying in the TOP4.

  8. Good morning to all Milan fans all over the world pls what exactly is milan’s problem or Maldini,Massara, pioli & red cardineli’s problems because this is not the Milan that won the league last season pls we need a good quality player not injury player like zaniolo because we need a good player that can give us a good result. Pls we need a quality player this January not July.

  9. Saint maximim could be a good signing ,but 40 million .
He is not worth anything like that .He would be good on the right hand side ,and he perhaps will be able to deliver crosses into the penalty area ,as we don’t seem to have anyone at the moment that can do that yes even Rafael leao ,,his mind seems to be elsewhere at the moment rather than AC Milan ..
Rafeol Leao last season was unstoppable but his mind does not seem as focused anymore ..I for one would love him to stay ,but only if his heart is with us..
Love to see him and maximim play together for Us..
Our goalkeeper Mike michanian will be back soon .
Our fortunes will change soon ..come on Olivier Giroud…i believe in you …yes if we get decent crosses into Oliver he can be a very dangerous foward ,and he will start scoring goals on a regular basis ..
