Nightmare for Napoli as all of their strikers could miss Milan clash

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and Napoli will square off in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday evening. For Luciano Spalletti, it’s could be a tricky clash as he could be without all of his strikers.

Victor Osimhen made an attempt to accelerate his recovery but he has been ruled out of the first leg. Giovanni Simeone, meanwhile, sustained an injury in the most recent game and will certainly miss the first leg as well.

According to Napoli’s official website, these two worked individually during the training session. The big surprise, however, is that the third centre-forward Giacomo Raspadori also worked individually and his presence might be at risk as well.

Should he miss the clash, then Spalletti would probably have to turn to an unconventional solution by fielding Hriving Lozano or Eljif Elmas in the centre-forward role. The upcoming days will be decisive to understand the condition of Raspadori.

        1. there has been many articles recently that hints at it being unlikely. On transfermarkt there isnt even an estimated return either. Personally i think he will miss both matches as he has been out for 13 days and such injuries can take up to 4-6 weeks and in some cases even longer from what i can understand. He propably wont be too fit either when returning.

      1. What ever the case is, Milan must ignore all news about Osimhen and Just prepare for a champions league last eight. These could always be tricky with Osimhen or not. A bruising encounter should be expected.

    1. No problem, you are correct there isnt anything 100% but it seems unlikely at least in the first match but whether he plays in the second one might be a different matter but to me it would seem that he could miss both but we will see.

We propably shouldnt set our expectations up towards a repeat of our recent 4-0 victory but i think we have played far better than them in the 2 previous meetings this season and we deserved to win the first match as well as we had several shots hitting the woodwork and could easily have won with a couple of goals had it not been for bad luck,

        1. my name is Martin not robert, no worries though 😀 yeah it would be nice if he doesnt play but we should be able to win or lose either way but kvaraskhelia can take a few weeks of vacation as well for what i care,

  1. Yesterday they play with no natural striker and win against lecce. Spalletti already have their alternative tactic, so milan should play more intense.
