Sky Germany: ‘No negotiations for Xhaka’ – Milan alter midfield operation due to pricing

AC Milan, it seems, are looking at other targets in the mercato, despite recent reports suggesting that things were going well with Granit Xhaka.

That is coming from reports in Germany this morning, where Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg states on his X account that there are no negotiations ongoing between Milan and Bayer Leverkusen. Contact has been there with the player, but nothing with his current club.

A ‘significant’ fee would be required to bring the Swiss to Milano, which makes the operation ‘far too expensive’ as it currently stands. However, the negotiations could also have stopped as the price is already on the table.

It does not mean the deal is completely off, so to speak.

So, with this, the Rossoneri are looking at other targets with more importance. Samuele Ricci is reportedly in the final stages of a move, per recent reports. Whilst Ardon Jashari is also being targeted quite heavily, though again, there are financial issues with the deal currently.

Considering the Diavolo have had a discount on the arrival of the Italian midfielder, it could be used to then match Leverkusen’s asking price. However, it remains to be seen if these ‘savings’, if you will, will be reinvested.

Luka Modric’s arrival will not be impacted by the Xhaka situation. If anything, the need for the Croatian will probably increase with the need for experience no longer shared.

    1. You know what’s never old? Watching Inter get demolished on the world stage…from now on your name is Police! (5-0) 😂😂😂

  1. LOL.

Shocking. Always called off when we hear the price.

It would be wise to never get your hopes up. The kids from Brugge prices are rising as well – which will likely mean – no chance

Leoni not for sale at 25M either….more like 35-40M now

Hurry up and sign Ricci before Cairo up’s the $$$ as well.

    Furlani is an a$$ 🤡

    1. Is it your money that you want to spend? Have you done any analysis that tells you the right price for each player?

+- 1 million is much more that you will ever earn, if they think its high, its their decision not to spend their money
