Official: AC Milan vs. Monza starting XIs – two changes as Jovic starts

AC Milan are up against Monza for the final game of the season and compared to the defeat against Roma, Sergio Conceicao has made two changes to the starting eleven.

A very tough and disappointing season will come to an end for Milan this evening. Regardless of the result, they will miss out on European competitions for next season, which is a huge blow. On top of that, some of their stars could leave in the summer.

Nevertheless, the game has to be played and as confirmed by Milan this evening, Conceicao has made two changes to the starting eleven. The three-man backline has been confirmed, with the birthday boy Strahinja Pavlovic starting, and Mike Maignan is keeping his spot in goal.

In midfield, Davide Bartesaghi is getting the chance as the left wing-back, seeing as Theo Hernandez still isn’t fully fit to play. Yunus Musah is starting on the right instead of Alex Jimenez, while Luka Jovic has been given the nod ahead of Francesco Camarda up front.

  1. I pray RedBird aren’t stupid enough to make this Reijnders’ last game… A decent coach like Conte or possibly Italiano would fix 90% of our problems without having to have a bargain basement clear out…

  2. Yeah, there’s no doubt at this point that Mendes picks our lineups. Why on earth would we play JF, if it’s not just trying to improve his personal highlights reel? Nothing against the player but his future isn’t at Milan, so why not give a chance to someone who might have one?

We also have four right-backs on the bench whilst playing Musah on the right. Don’t mind Musah getting minutes at all, but shows how excellent our squad planning is…

    1. I can think of two reasons even if I wouldn’t agree with either. The first one the most unlikely is that he knew him already before either joined Milan and that he is a close friend of his son. Second one which seems more likely to me is that there within the loan contract is some requirements of him playing a certain amount of minutes to prevent that his value plummets further for Chelsea.

  3. Cowardly to the very end. Monza has nothing to play for as do we. Just play the friggin youths sheesh 🤦‍♂️

  4. Maybe there’s something really cooking between Leao and Bayern and they don’t want to risk him. He even Removed AC Milan from his Instagram tag.

    1. I don’t frequent his instagram profile, but really he removed Milans tag there, well then it surely looks like he will be gone but that also contradicts Furlanis words of that we doesn’t need to sacrifice any players not that it should come as a surprise by now.

      1. We might not need to but still want to move on from Leao. He’s a talent but he doesn’t seem to be one we can get the best from consistently at the moment.

        1. Sure even though I like the player when he performs then he is a great asset but i agree he is often inconsistent and also a defensive liability so if the team will rely more on wings that offers something in both ends of the field I would be able to understand such stance.

      2. They maybe don’t need to sacrifice but do they have money for another revolution without it? They didn’t have it after Scudetto and CL qualifications, they needed to sell Tonali in order to buy. Also, Gerry explained already in a lengthy interview. It’s all about opportunities and huge returns on players.

        1. That might be their logic but Milan was never in a need to sell Tonali considering we had earned 100+ mil that season but sure we might still end up selling players.

    2. Uh oh.. that doesn’t look good eh Ted.
Going to say it now. People gonna miss the quantity of offensive output and will be calling for his name in the future when/if he leaves. Get used to Felix and Sottil type players next season leading the offensive line. Same thing as Tonali, same here. Same as with Pioli constantly getting us in top 4 and most times being competitive (even Paolo)…. People always have this grass is greener mindset. They don’t even know what they have …eg one of the best wingers in the world and one of the best left backs. Plain and simple. But they hate for whatever reason in a season that’s atrocious from top to bottom in the club.
Leaos “terrible” season this year is what? 23 goal contributions? And his mvp level performance was 28. Come on now…in a terrible season mind you. Folks be painting way worse a picture on him for no reason this season.

  5. Last game of the horrible season , no objective and our coch play his girlfriend Joana Felix, a player who will not stay for next season instead of using Liberali for example. We are surprised that the kid will most likely not extend his contract with us…

  6. An AC Milan fan has been escorted out of the stadium after displaying a Maldini #3 shirt in front of the VIP area (where Milan management are seated).

    They are so fragile.

          1. Ok thought you was goofing around. Well it will probably show up here or on another football website so guess I’ll just have to wait a bit but that is absolutely ridiculous to throw a man out with a Maldini shirt but thanks for bringing it to our attention.

          2. 😀 now it shows, well we didn’t see him getting dragged away but i did see the stewards/guards arriving so guess he was then.
            Bunch of clowns.

          3. Apparently the fan was allowed back later on according to football Italia …. Probably realized that it would be bad commercially for the looks of the ownership
            😀

    1. Yes that was a nice move. Camarda looks like he enjoys playing in the first team games more than kids his age. The motivation is there is suppose.
Also he’s put on some decent size as well since last year

      1. Absolutely. I dont know if he still trains it but I believe he previously trained kickboxing before he set his mind on football so he ain’t no softy.
