With less than an hour to go before Genoa-Milan kicks off, Marco Giampaolo has announced his starting eleven for the must-win game. There are a few surprises that we didn’t anticipate, and especially one that most likely won’t be appreciated by the fans.
At the back, Duarte is awarded his first start of the season, as Musacchio is serving a one-game ban after seeing red against Fiorentina. Other than that, however, Giampaolo will field the usual back four as Hernandez once again wins the battle with Rodriguez.
In the middle, though, things get interesting. The reports ahead of the game had Paqueta starting, but instead of the Brazilian, Bonaventura of all people will play to the left. Furthermore, Bennacer will be on the bench following his shocking performance last time our.
Despite his wondergoal against Fiorentina, Rafael Leao will be benched. Giampaolo has opted for one of his favourites on the left flank, namely Calhanoglu. The Turk, along with Suso, will have to support Piatek in every way possible.
