Just four days ago, Senegal announced that Fode Ballo-Toure had tested positive for Covid-19. The AC Milan left-back thus missed the first game of the AFCON, but now he’s back and ready to take part.
On their official Twitter page, three hours ago, Senegal’s Football Federation published a statement confirming that all of their players have tested negative in the recent round of tests, including Ballo-Toure. He should be able to play on Tuesday, therefore.
Senegal’s first game ended in disappointment as they only got a 0-0 draw against Guinea. In addition to Ballo-Toure, important players such as Gueye and Koulibaly were also missing, which understandably made things more difficult for them.
The Milan man took part in today’s training session and he should be able to play from start in Senegal’s game against Malawi on Tuesday, should he get the nod. In short, he will not be returning to the Rossoneri early.
