Official: Juventus defender Danilo ruled out of clash with Milan

By Euan Burns -

Juventus defender Danilo is not going to be available against AC Milan when the two sides face off this weekend in Serie A.

Juventus released an official statement on Monday afternoon which confirmed that whilst on international duty with Brazil, Danilo suffered a hamstring strain in his left leg.

He has now begun a rehabilitation programme and whilst Juventus have not given a timeframe for his return, a hamstring injury is rarely overcome in less than a week and it is safe to assume he will not face Milan.

This adds to what is a growing problem for Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri. He is also expected to be without Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa as they have both failed to recover from injuries as quickly as was hoped during the international break.

The game should provide an opportunity to learn a lot about both teams and their Scudetto credentials, although there may have been more to learn about Juventus if they had fewer injuries.
