Official: Spezia vs. AC Milan starting XIs – Maldini gets his first league start

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will take on Spezia in just over an hour and the starting XIs for the game have now been confirmed. Pioli, as expected, will make quite a few chances after playing the backups mid-week.

The Rossoneri have 13 points from the first five games and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run this afternoon. They lost this fixture by two goals to nil last season and will thus be looking for revenge as well.

Daniel Maldini will get the chance from start, for the first time in the league, exactly 4500 days since Paolo Maldini made his last start for the club. Ante Rebic will start to the left, which wasn’t expected, while Olivier Giroud will play up front.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Tomori, Romagnoli, Hernández; Tonali, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Maldini, Rebić; Giroud.

Subs: Jungdal, Tătărușanu; Ballo-Touré, Calabria, Conti, Gabbia; Bennacer, Castillejo, Díaz; Leão, Pellegri

Official Spezia XI (4-2-3-1): Zoet; Amian, Nikolaou, Hristov, Bastoni; Bourabia, Sala; Gyasi, Maggiore, Nzola; Antiste.
