MN: The only circumstance that would see Leao leave Milan for Chelsea this summer

AC Milan have not yet received an offer for Rafael Leao from Chelsea but he is attracting the interest of some top clubs, a report claims.

MilanNews writes how in the last few hours the news from The Times Sport journalists Duncan Castles and Paul Joyce regarding Chelsea being at work to sign Leao has rebounded around in Italy.

However, at the moment Milan have not received any official offer from the Blues for their Portuguese winger and as per the report it is also very unlikely that the Rossoneri would sell one of their biggest talents and potentially their most important forward just ten days before the closing of the summer transfer window.

That is because there would not be enough time to go back into the market and find a replacement of Leao’s quality. The only scenario that could change anything is if Chelsea decided to pay the €150m to trigger his release clause, but at the moment there is no indication regarding a willingness to do that.

  1. Give us Pulisic and 90M. Pulisic and Rebic will cover the left wing then spend that money on Kessie replacement, quality right winger and Theo back-up. Am worried about Leao this season he seems to drop in form

      1. That’s a great idea. I like that. Doubtful they would give up both and 70m. But that would work for me. Pulisic would be great in Serie A

      2. Lovely idea, but both are RWs. This also values Leao around 140m or basically his release clause, which is pure fantasy. Leao is not worth more than 80m. Remember, release clauses are always above market value, sometimes substantially. Even so, I’d take the 80m and let Rebic/Origi handle LW, at least for one season and spend 40-50m on Antony for RW and then the rest (plus the 15m we still have, so 45-55m) for a CM and a CB.

I think Antony is a better option to either Ziyech and Pulisic because 1. Both are already on very high wages and 2. In terms of Ziyech age is a factor. Antony is young, can still grow, costs half as much and can be resold to the EPL if necessary down the road.

  2. 60-70mil + Ziyech(RW). Get Gakpo for LW. Get Onana or maybe even Danilo from Palmeiras if possible. Then a decent CB.

    We gucciiiiii!

    1. This was honestly my fifa 23 plan this year since bloody budget for Milan in fifa is also below expectations ffs.

  3. If chelsea come calling honestly speaking i will advice the board to cash in for some certain reasons namely
-Failure to commit to milan despite the offer on ground and unwillingness to show the desire to stay.
-If negotiation drags till next year obviously him and the agent will have an upper hand and dwal with us without mercy
-Fear of his form dropping tremendously, because ego have started creeping in and look at his behaviour against atalanta when he was substituted he reluctantly have a hand shake will simeone kajer.
If chelsea will offer pulisic + some cash, milan shouldnt hesitate.
God bless all milan fans world wide.
    Forza milan.

    1. Yep he will not sign the contract and plan is leave for free. So better cash him outside.

We’re probably the only club to loose so many good valued players for free. Dolla, Snaka, Cashie, and now Rafa.

  4. It is imposible for any club trigger that 150m euro clause. Leao not worth 150m euro, probably just 70-80m euro or ziyech + 50m euro cash . But for now chelsea focus all budget on defender like fofana for 80m euro so leao will be with us until his contract expire

          1. Only in Italy players are benched or not allowed to train with the rest of the team because they don’t wanna extend their contracts.
How about Milan sells him instead before he leaves on a free transfer in 2 years. Get as much money you can and replace him.

  5. if milan get 50-70 mil for rafa they should sell him
he is neither as reliable as theo nor as consistent as bennacer ……

    1. 50M?? LOLOLOLO. Ya sure plus Pulsic (46) Hudson Odoi (27) and Chalobah (22) = 95M + 50M = 145M – which is basically his release clause. Why do we always undervalue our players? Sad.

      1. So now we’re undervaluing him? Some people here keep saying the price is what the market dictates ie. how much others are willing to pay. Well, newsflash! No club on this planet is ready to offer even 80M€ to Milan for Leao at the moment. So based on your (plural) words, it’s not undervaluing him but the actual market value.

      2. There is no club willing to pay leao 80m euro or more. You need to perform good on world cup or champion league to make your price up to 100m euro above. . But for now better renew leao ,even if they sell him , that money only become elliot capital gain

  6. Why does everyone keep saying Ziyech+cash? Milan can have Ziyech right now without selling Leao. The issue with Ziyech is not the transfer fee, but his 6 mil a year salary. It’s way too high. If you wanna pay him 6 mil , then you might as well give Leao 7m.
And i want no part of Pulisic. Yes he is a quality player but he is rarely healthy and fit to play. No thanks.
If Leao is going i want straight cash. And i doubt Milan get’s even 70 mil offer for Leao, let alone 150

    1. but but but we’d rather have an unhealthy pulisic and some $$$ than seeing Leao leave in 2024 for free… sob…
