Now that the quarter-final stage of the World Cup has been completed, it’s time to take a look at the AC Milan players still in the tournament.
There were a total of five Milan players in the quarter-finals, namely Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot (France), Koni De Winter and Alexis Saelemaekers (Belgium), and Ardon Jashari (Switzerland). Considering there were eleven players at the start of the tournament, many had already left.

Now, as the teams for the semi-finals have been confirmed, only two Milan players remain and they are, of course, the two Frenchmen. They managed to beat Morocco by two goals to nil and will now be up against Spain, who knocked out the Belgian Milan duo.
On the other hand, having two players in the World Cup semi-final is pretty good for a club, especially when you consider that both of them are starters. Not to mention that they could go all the way, even if Spain certainly won’t be a walk in the park for Didier Deschamps side.
The obvious downside to them making it far is that Ruben Amorim won’t see the duo at Milanello for quite some time. In fact, it will even be after the pre-season tour in the Far East.
