AC Milan have not managed to reach an agreement with Divock Origi regarding the termination of his deal, despite the attempts.
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) recall, earlier this summer Origi was spotted at Casa Milan to speak with management about the possibility of negotiating the early termination of his contract with the club, which expires in one year.

Talks come to nothing
After initial discussions, negotiations stalled due to the player’s resistance to receiving a favourable fee – essentially a pay-off – that would allow him to end his deal and to negotiate a free transfer with another club. Since then, things have once again gone quiet about the ex-Liverpool man.
Origi remains tied to Milan for the final year of his contract, but with the obligation to remain in Italy for a long time for tax reasons. More specifically, there are regulations about domicile in Italy in order to access the Growth Decree.
As a reminder, Origi earns €4m net per year and signed a four-year contract when he arrived after the Scudetto-winning campaign. Thus, when factoring in the gross amount with tax on top, Milan were hoping to save over €5m by agreeing the mutual termination of the Belgian’s deal.

Caldara had back to back 2 of the worst injuries an athlete can have, Achilles rupture and ACL tear. He didn’t fail because he was trash but because injuries ruined his career.
Orogi was signed to be the starting striker and was the highest paid player on the team.
Caldara had the worst luck a player can have, Origi was just trash.
A bad transfer is something that doesn’t work out because the player is bad not because he got injured and his career was ruined because of that.

The bigger question should be how Milan managed to break a Champions League winning striker as well as the other 50 strikers they’ve signed in the past 20 years AND all of their youth team strikers.

He scored 41 goals (including some crucial ones) in 175 matches in far superior leagues, and all of a sudden his career collapsed the minute he signed for Milan.
A club that has signed at least one striker every single transfer window for the past 20 years.
Ironically this summer Milan didn’t sign a striker (unless you want to count Nkunku) and the club was criticised (including for not dumping another ‘problem’ striker in Giménez).

I understand that SempreMilan was looking for user engagement with that picture of Maldini and Origi. It worked as some comments were instantly blaming Maldini.
Of course that was a mistake in retrospect. But at the time when Milan didn’t have much financial resources, it was a logical move to strengthen the squad with a top club veteran. As I said, the current management is wasting way more money on transfers and contracts, which eventually led to poor results and losing huge amounts of cash in European competitions and sponsorship revenues.

Maldini is the greatest Milan Player ever. He also seems like an amazing man. But you should be able to seperate the player from the Sporting director/ general manager.

It was also letting Donnarumma, Chalhanoglu and Kessie leave for free so we didn’t have the funds to replace them. At least this management understands that very basic rule.

These player (Origi) didn’t learn about himself, He didnot evaluatied himself, why him didnt have some progress at all, when he loan to another club, he didnot give the best for his club, a profesional player must give the best for club (event loan or not) n must give contribution for club and thats why club paid his salary.
