MN: Origi shows his key qualities in cameo debut against Udinese

By Oliver Fisher -

Divock Origi came on for the final few minutes of AC Milan’s win over Udinese on Saturday for his first taste of being a Rossoneri player.

MilanNews writes how Origi has joined Olivier Giroud in the centre-forward department as well as compatriots Charles De Ketelaere and Alexis Saelemaekers in the attack, and in the glimpse we got over the weekend the Belgian seems to be in good physical shape.

Now he has disposed of the injury sustained at the end of his time at Liverpool, Origi can focus on getting some important minutes in his legs to be ready for a hectic fixture schedule between now and the World Cup.

Coming on with the score at 4-2 is an advantageous situation to make a debut, but the new signing immediately proved able to penetrate the opposing defence and allow quick vertical movement of the game, which is exactly what Pioli wants.

He played passes (one for Saelemaekers sticks out) and made runs that a dangerous number nine should do, so the impressions were very positive from the around 12 minutes we saw of Origi. He has physical power, technique and a sense of position that is tough to teach, and once he is fully settled he will hopefully be a real force.
