CorSera: Forward to leave Liverpool and join a project at Milan that Klopp likes ‘very much’

AC Milan appear to be very close to making their first summer signing official as Liverpool striker Divock Origi has reportedly agreed terms.

According to this morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri are one step away from making Origi their first addition ahead of the 2022-23 season as the 27-year-old centre-forward will leave Liverpool on a free transfer.

The Belgian will sign a contract worth €3.5m net per year and it will be a multi-year deal, with the belief being that his great international experience will be very useful to Stefano Pioli, as well as his tendency to contribute in big games.

He has never really been a consistent starter under Jurgen Klopp which is likely to be one of the reasons he finds the idea of a move to the San Siro to be so appealing, so he can be more of a protagonist in an interesting project, one Klopp himself likes ‘very much’.
