CorSport: Origi still has a chance to convince Milan before summer evaluation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could well be forced into reflections on the future of Divock Origi at the end of the season as he continues to struggle, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that the first season for Origi has been far from memorable to this point. The Belgian arrived from Liverpool on a free transfer and has so far not met expectations, playing very little and scoring even less.

Due to the fact he arrived on a free, a possible sale this summer would guarantee Milan a pure capital gain, so that is something Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have in mind in view of the upcoming mercato.

However, any talk of a definite sale is premature at the moment because the management believe he can recover in this season finale, perhaps taking advantage of the international break in which he is working more calmly at Milanello.

Evaluation on each player will be made at the end of the season and there are plans to refresh the attacking department so Origi, like everyone, must earn his spot in the squad for 2023-24.
