Arda Güler has been heavily linked with AC Milan over the last few days, with the imminent departure of Sandro Tonali fueling the rumours. Mesut Özil believes the playmaker could become better than him.
Milan are looking for a playmaker/right-winger to replace Brahim Diaz, who officially has returned to Real Madrid. Daichi Kamada is set to join for the No.10 role but the Rossoneri could also bring in Güler, with more focus on the right flank.
Last night, L’Equipe reported that the Rossoneri are ahead of the competition when it comes to the 18-year-old. Speaking to Marca, as cited by The Madrid Zone, the former German player with Turkish roots Mesut Özil praised Güler.
“Is there a number 10 better than me? I can think of a name, I have a brother that I believe in, may God protect him: his name is Arda Güler,” he stated.
Özil was also a teammate of Güler during his time at Fenerbahce, meaning he’s seen plenty of what the youngster is capable of. It remains to be seen if Milan can beat the competition and secure his arrival.
If that’s true, we need to be on him ASAP.
With Madrid in the picture, kiss this target goodbye. They can afford to sign him long term and loan him back to his club. His father gets his payday, the club keeps their player for a couple more seasons and they have an asset secured with no extra pressure to develop getting first team time until he is readier to perform there. Disaster on the horizon for this potential signing.

That’s high praise coming from Özil. IF we get this guy Thuram Kamada Frattesi or similar be interesting to see how the mercato is judged after all this hysteria.
