L’Equipe: Milan ahead of Barcelona as Fenerbahce star is ‘convinced’ by move

By Isak Möller -

Arda Guler has ended up on AC Milan’s radar and with the hefty sale of Sandro Tonali on the cards, the Rossoneri could beat the competition. In fact, they have even convinced the player, a report claims.

Milan are in advanced talks with Newcastle over the transfer of Tonali and the final figure could be around €80m. That’s a lot of money for the Rossoneri and could allow them to make moves for their dream targets, such as Guler.

According to L’Equipe, Milan are currently ahead of the competition and as the Feneberbache star is ‘convinced’ by the move. Guler has a release clause of just €17.5m and it’s essential for the Rossoneri to act fast, with competitors such as Barcelona currently behind but not far.

Geoffrey Moncada and Stefano Pioli have identified the 18-year-old as the perfect replacement for Brahim Diaz and he can also play on the right. Just a few days ago, Guler scored a screamer for Turkey’s national team and it’s no wonder that several big clubs are after him.

  1. Yeah, I’m sure that an 18yo with 0 experience will lead us to Champions League glory. The likes of Javier Saviola, Giovanni Dos Santos, Bojan Krkić or Ansu Fati, who all also excelled at 18, dubbed next ballon d’or winners. They all went to have great careers like Messi or Ronaldo.

    1. We signed Kaka when he was a young starlet for next to nothing, it’s always worth a shot. Nobody is a definite star, look Kvara, nobody wanted to take a chance on him and he had 0 champions league experience too. Mane went from Southampton to a Champions League winner, Andrea Pirlo was considered a flop till we took him off Inter’s hands. Your outlook on the football world is warped. If you want to win at football you need to take risks, look at Leao he was considered the weaker player when we bought him and Arsenal bought Nicolas Pepe and they paid 70m for that flop. Rarely do big signings work out. Look at Hazard, Martial, Maguire, Pogba, Lukaku(Chelsea), just to mention a few in the past 6 years. These are the risks that need to be taken. We took a gamble on a bunch of rejects and they went on to win the Champions League and some of them the world cup all considered legends today. Hell Gattuso was playing out in Scotland at a time. Once you realise real football isn’t a video game then you’ll understand the risks involved in this business, ask Parma, Fiorentina and even Napoli. Things can go very wrong very quickly especially if you just keep spending like you own the World Bank.

  2. Still think Dortmund would suit a kid like this perfectly, surprised if he’d move to Italy but then development of big talent is something we have an OK record of in the last few seasons at least

  3. Get this kid for RW and samuel chukwuu. Both are deadly on right winger. Use that cash from tonali 70m euro to get frattesi + samuel chukwu + arda guler

    1. This i like so much. Killing three birds with Tonali’s balls. With the other 35 if our fixed budget, we can cover another 2 positions too, like Lb cover and a new striker.

      1. 35 million won’t get you are striker than can score in Serie A, the toughest league to put the ball in the net. Not a young one anyway that fits the mantra of our ownership.

  4. So Our main CM next season will be Kamada who will cost us nothing but our bench CM will cost us €17.5million 🤣🤣
