Following Brazil’s 3-1 win against Peru last evening in the Copa America final, Lucas Paqueta spoke to TMW in the mixed zone about the upcoming season and Giampaolo’s arrival.

Since his arrival at Milan last January, Paqueta has only improved as he managed to adapt to Italian football very quickly. The Rossoneri signed him for a fee of €35m, and the midfielder’s good performances earned him a spot in Brazil’s squad.

Although he only played a few minutes throughout the tournament, the 21-year-old revealed how much of an impact the experience has had on his confidence, looking forward to the upcoming season with Milan.

“This Copa America title brings me much more experience and makes me grow as a player. I’ll return to Milan with greater confidence and awareness, ready to help the team achieve its goals.

“Giampaolo? I will meet him personally when I return from vacation. Now I just want to rest because I come from a very intense season. Then, my head will only be focused on Milan.

“I know that Giampaolo plays with a number 10, I followed his work at Sampdoria, I was really happy to hear about his arrival at Milan. I hope I can help the Rossoneri and give my contribution in this formation that suits me,” he concluded.
