Parolo believes ‘Tottenham dictated’ Milan’s defeat against Fiorentina

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the deciding clash against Tottenham, AC Milan failed to build on their winning streak as they lost to Fiorentina last night. Marco Parolo believes their approach had a lot to do with the London clash.

Stefano Pioli’s men looked off from the get-go and Fiorentina completely dominated the first half. They had to wait until after the break to score, but there was really no doubt about which was the better side at Artemio Franchi last night.

DAZN pundit and former footballer Marco Parolo spoke about the Rossoneri’s defeat after the game (via MilanNews) and he stated that they most likely were affected a lot by the Tottenham game. Especially the substitutions hinted at this.

“It was a match similar to the one that the Rossoneri will play on Wednesday in London. If you can’t find the quality pass to break the lines, it’s tough. Leao was missing. The cameos of Bakayoko and Adli make me think that Tottenham dictated the game.

“Champions League race? A lot will depend on the Tottenham game. Should Milan go through, then energy and strength will return. Without creativity up front, however, it’s tough. Milan have the strength to reach the Champions League but today their mind was elsewhere,” he stated.

Milan have a 1-0 lead on aggregate but it will be a very tough game in London on Wednesday evening. Tottenham are not in a particularly good for either, though, which could make for a close affair at Hotspur Stadium.
