AC Milan are ready to relaunch their bid to sign Angel Correa and talks could be held over James Rodriguez, according to journalist Alfredo Pedulla.
With the mercato closing on September 2, it appears that the Rossoneri management are still hard at work trying to give Marco Giampaolo reinforcements.
The need for fresh attacking options was perhaps highlighted on Sunday night as Milan fell to a dismal 1-0 defeat away at Udinese to open their 2019-20 Serie A campaign.
Before that game, sporting director Ricky Massara offered an update on the club’s transfer plans in an interview with Sky Italia, even touching on the rumours surrounding Angel Correa.
Now, journalist Alfredo Pedulla has provided some more information about Correa via his website.
He claims that Zvonomir Boban is expected in Madrid to try and get things moving in the mercato after the sterile performance in Udine.
Pedulla states that it has been made clear to Boban based on that game that new forwards are needed, possibly wingers given that Giampaolo hinted at switching to a 4-3-3 formation in his interview with Sky Italia after the game.
Boban will meet with Atletico Madrid – the report adds – to see if there is any way to find a solution, but the LaLiga side continue to demand €50million which is an unreachable figure given Andre Silva has not yet been sold yet.
The trip to Madrid will allow Boban to find out if there is any chance of signing James Rodriguez from Real Madrid, Pedulla adds, after the Colombian playmaker was offered to Milan on July 25.
It is possible that Boban could seek to verify the availability of Rodriguez, who was strongly linked with Napoli, the report concludes.
