AC Milan director Ricky Massara has offered some vital updates on the future of two Milan players, as well as the club’s reported pursuit of Angel Correa.
The Rossoneri are ready to kick off their 2019-20 season at the Stadio Friuli against Udinese, and Massara took some time to speak to the media ahead of the game.
He began by discussing the future of Suso, a player that – as per MilanNews.it – Marco Giampaolo has made it clear he wants to keep.
Lyon are one of the teams who confirmed their interest in the player via their club president, while La Gazzetta dello Sport linked Fiorentina with a move, however Massara believes he is going nowhere.
“Suso is a strong player, we certainly want to keep him, the market is open and sparks a lot of work for journalists, but we absolutely want to keep him,” the director told Sky Sport Italia as transcribed by Football Italia.
Meanwhile, the new Milan sporting director lifted the lid on the rumours surrounding Angel Correa, a player who the Rossoneri have planned more talks for as we revealed earlier on Sunday.
“This Angel Correa story has also been pumped up by the media. We want to make buys who are functional to the squad, we’ve done that and we are ready to be competitive this season.”
Andre Silva’s future at Milan was also discussed by Massara, amid claims from Calciomercato.com that his agent Jorge Mendes is under pressure to find his client a new club.
“Andre Silva is ready to play, he is focused on the game, as we all are, as it is a very important match. He is a strong player, can work as a centre-forward or a support striker.
“He is a complete forward and hasn’t expressed all his capabilities at Milan, but we hope that he still can.”
