Pellegatti: Chelsea defender, winger and playmaker to sign – Milan’s summer strategy outlined

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will sign Fikayo Tomori outright and will also reinforce the attacking department with a new winger, according to Carlo Pellegatti.

In a video on his YouTube channel, Pellegatti took stock of Milan’s market and mentioned some possible movements in the attacking department, including two or three potential new signings.

“Certainly there will be a right winger, who will be joined by Saelemaekers. An alternative to Calhanoglu will be needed, maybe Brahim’s loan will be renewed or some other young profile will arrive. I don’t think Milan will spend 40 million on Vlahovic. Instead, there could be Belotti as an alternative, with the right figures since it expires in 2022,” he said (via MilanLive).

As for the other roles, the well-known journalist believes that Milan are ready to pay the money needed to ensure that Tomori remains beyond the end of the season. “Tomori will be the first signing of the 2021/2022 season,” says Pellegatti, who then excludes the arrival of other defenders.

In the full-back positions, Pierre Kalulu will be trusted and Andrea Conti could stay if he is not bought by Parma. In midfield, with Tonali’s redemption, the situation is very similar: the club will focus on Kessie, Tonali, Bennacer and Pobega, returning from Spezia. The redemption of Meite from Turin is not yet to be ruled out.

Finally, Pellegatti also clarified that Mario Mandzukic is unlikely to remain beyond the end of the season at present as there is no obligation on the part of the club to renew Mandzukic’s contract should they qualify for the Champions League. Everything will therefore depend on the contribution that the former Juventus man will be able to give in these last games.
